In the name of the great creator
Bangladesh Social Democratic Party (BSDP)
The dignity of man, the best creation of the great Almighty, is inviolable……. Man is above all, there is no one above him.
One country, one family - equal rights for all
Declaration
Bangladesh Social Democratic Party (BSDP) is a newly established new political party (under registration process). This party aims to improve the quality of life through equal rights and opportunities for all citizens and empower all society sections. The main focus of this party is the society and the people of the society. Therefore, the promotion of social democratic governance, transparency, and accountability are the objectives of this party. Through public welfare activities, this party will spread the thought and spirit of public service. With everyone and for everyone is the main trend of this party. Therefore, the party slogan is –
One country, one family – equal rights for all
The BSDP will raise the following issues with you right now to establish a social welfare state:
1) Ownership of votes will be ensured at all levels through vote recall
Common saying: – I will give my vote – I will give it to whoever I want. The purpose is to ensure that people can vote. Even if the vote is fair, many times, we all know the behavior of the elected persons after the vote. If the voters are empowered and can take back their votes if they want, they will stop doing whatever they want with the votes like Tipsey.
Therefore, our demand: A system of vote withdrawal should be made after one year of the election in which the voter has the power to take back his vote. Let it be practiced –
I will give my vote – I will give it to whoever I want – I will take it back if necessary
2) Elections and elected persons
Our demand: The election frequency should be every four years. In all areas and all types of elected persons in the country, they cannot be elected more than twice. Through the proportional representation system, i.e., all the seats in the parliament should be allocated to the parties based on the proportion of the votes received by the party so that the distribution of seats in the parliament reflects the overall vote share of each party.
3) Decentralization of power
Local governments and councils will be empowered to ensure the participation of the people in decision-making. This will include representatives of the local people along with the elected mayor.
4) Referendum
Referendums will be used for important policy decisions so that citizens can directly influence important changes.
5) Parliamentary structure
A bicameral system can be established in the parliamentary structure, consisting of a lower house (e.g., an elected House of Representatives) and an upper house (e.g., a Senate or Council). The lower house will be directly elected by the people, while the upper house may represent different constituencies or groups (e.g., regions, professions).
6) Equal rights for all
Equal rights for men and women will be ensured in all areas of society, including politics, the workplace, and education, and special policies will be formulated for the empowerment of women.
7) Public participation in policy formulation and project implementation
The process of public input will be ensured in the policy formulation and project implementation processes in all areas, ensuring that citizens have a voice in the governance of the country and that their needs are represented. For example, at the union level, along with elected representatives, two people from each ward will be appointed to the council for one year. Two new ones will be added after a year.
8) Unemployment and Employment Creation
We will prioritize the needs and aspirations of the youth by focusing on education reforms, job creation, and civil rights. The majority of the educated youth in the country are unemployed. We will arrange for domestic and foreign investment to create employment. We will equip the youth with skills in emerging industries like agriculture, textiles, IT, manufacturing, and renewable energy and arrange jobs at home and abroad in all areas that can provide employment. The goal is – one job per family.
9) Social Safety Net and Welfare Programs
The major pillar of social democracy is the strengthening of the social safety net and social protection system. Food for all – health for all – education for all – job opportunities for all and economic equality are included in this political ideology. Food security programs, pensions and assistance for marginalized groups including women, the elderly and the disabled will be provided to strengthen the social protection system. Progressive taxes and policies will be implemented to reduce income inequality and ensure fair distribution of wealth, and all kinds of support will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses.
10) Anti-Corruption Law
Strict anti-corruption laws and transparent governance will be ensured in all branches of government to ensure accountability. An independent anti-corruption commission will be formed with the power to investigate and prosecute corruption practices without bias or interference, which will have representatives of the general public.
11) Ending nepotism
To prevent nepotism in public offices and institutions, clear policies will be formulated and implemented so that appointments and promotions are based on merit. Transparency will be ensured through information technology in the public procurement process to eliminate bias and ensure fair competition.
12) Healthcare for All
Ensure that no one is left behind due to economic or social barriers and ensure access to affordable and equitable healthcare for all. Domestic and foreign investment in healthcare infrastructure and preventive care programs will be encouraged to reduce the need to travel abroad for treatment.
13) Education for All
Right to education for all. Work-oriented education will be introduced at all levels to enable employment both at home and abroad. Free and equitable access to quality education from childhood through higher education, including vocational training programs, will be ensured to increase employment.
14) Workers’ Rights
Labor rights, including fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize, will be strengthened, with policies that support job creation and protect workers from exploitation.
15) Unity and National Identity
A strong foundation for national identity will be established by respecting the cultural heritage and diversity of all citizens. Multifaceted initiatives will be taken that promote unity and collective pride in being Bangladeshi, transcending differences based on race or religion.
16) Environmental Sustainability
All kinds of support will be given to initiatives that protect the environment by committing to sustainable development practices. The expansion of renewable energy will generate its electrical power, which will create new jobs and support sustainable practices in industry, contributing to economic development and environmental protection in all areas.
17) Access to technology and digital inclusion
Digital literacy programs will be implemented to increase digital skills among citizens, especially in rural and low-income areas. various programs will be implemented to ensure that everyone can access online connectivity and job opportunities. Investments will be made in infrastructure to provide affordable and reliable internet access to all citizens to bridge the digital divide.
Our country is plagued by multifaceted problems. Just as in a large poor family, everyone has to participate in running the family according to their ability, similarly, our family-like country needs everyone’s participation and support to stand economically and politically. We invite everyone through this political platform of ours to solve all kinds of problems in the country. Even if you are not a member of our party, your ideas, proposals or solutions to solve any kind of problem in your country are welcome to us. We have to start welfare work now without waiting for votes and power.
Our Bangladesh Social Democratic Party (BSDP) has already started skill development and training programs for the youth as part of the social welfare program.
